The Board of Directors of RTVE has elected Elena Sánchez as the new interim president of the corporation, after garnering five votes from the leadership of the public channel.

The solution is interim, provisional, a patch.

Nobody in the command posts has just understood how Pérez Tornero has been sentenced without paving the way for a slow replacement that in some way reissues the initial consensus that the outgoing president aroused.

Sánchez is a solution that Moncloa likes, but he should not continue for a long time at the head of the public chain.

His functions are not fully executive and the majority that he has garnered on the starting Board of Directors is minimal.

It will be necessary to find a replacement for the long term, in which at the moment nobody thinks.

Next year is eminently electoral and Sánchez, Elena, will be in charge of the chain.

For this reason, the case of Rosa María Mateo, the sole provisional administrator without a Board of Directors, is ruled out by all the Government sources and the public network consulted.

With that figure already relieved, a ruling of the Constitutional Court was known that considered the decree law that upheld it contrary to the Magna Carta, by violating fundamental rights.

The way that opens is the appointment of a new director to replace Pérez Tornero, as a member of that body and as president of the corporation and of the Council.

However, it is not easy.

Pérez Tornero arrived in Prado del Rey thanks to an agreement between the two major parties, PSOE and PP, an understanding that is far away and that has not been reissued in other bodies such as the General Council of the Judiciary (CGPJ).

United We Can and PNV adhered to this great pact and the four formations distributed the proposal for appointments of the entire Council, with 10 members.

However, the game of supports is especially complex.

First, the required parliamentary majority is reinforced, of two thirds, with which either the PSOE and the PP are in tune again, with the difficulties that this implies, or there will be no replacement for Pérez Tornero.
