- Every week we distribute food bags to up to 200 households, which means approximately 400 people, of which 150 are children, says City Mission's director, Magnus Uhlin.
He says that the Food Center handled more than 60 tons of food this year and that this has been made possible through large collaborations with both food wholesalers, stores and other sponsors.
Who can come and pick up a bag of food from you?
- We collaborate with the churches and it is to them that those seeking help contact them.
We also do not conduct reviews like an authority, of those who ask for help, but have certain guidelines and for long-term support the requirements increase over time, we are not meant to provide for people.
Expect to see an increase
Have you seen any change in terms of which groups seek help?
- In the beginning it was mostly single households and then families with children came and of course some refugees come from Ukraine.
In terms of inflation, we have yet to see anything but concern, but come winter we expect more people to need actual help.
