At present, travelers can apply for free online "digital stamps" of recent entry and exit or past transit certificates.

  Since April 25 this year, the Afghan government has cancelled passport stamps at air and sea border crossings.

"The digital registration of entry and exit records removes the stamping of passports, minimizing costs and the risk of fraud," said Immigration Director Carignano. "The measure will be implemented gradually across the country."

  It is understood that the measure is designed to allow travelers to process procedures in a faster way, simplify immigration registration, and reduce waiting times; at the same time, simplify procedures, reduce costs, reduce fraud risks and eliminate administrative burdens.
