This is the first time Ukraine has admitted to acquiring Kyiv's long-sought National Advanced Surface-to-Air Missile System (NASAMS), the delivery of which Washington approved in late August.
"We absolutely need American leadership to provide Ukraine with air defense systems. I would like to thank President Biden for the positive decision that has been made," Zelensky said, adding that it is not enough to cover Ukraine's civilian infrastructure, Schools, hospitals, etc.
In addition, Zelensky thanked the United States for supplying the High Mobility Multiple Rocket Launcher System (HIMARS) and other MLRS.
