The A9 has been cut since the beginning of the afternoon in both directions, towards Lyon and towards Spain, following the burning of a heavy goods vehicle in a construction area on the motorway.
The vehicle fire occurred in the Gard, between Remoulins and Nîmes Est.
The fire was contained by the action of firefighters.
Its origin is unknown.
It has not spread to nearby vegetation.
Nevertheless, the interventions were still in progress at 4 p.m. on the truck, in order to tow it and secure the premises.
