The mystery thickens around the disappearance of Bernard Chaussoy, former mayor of the town of Rinxent, in Pas-de-Calais.

Aged 81, he has not been heard from since Friday evening, when he went to pick mushrooms with his wife in the national forest of Desvres, near Boulogne-sur-Mer.

Significant research was carried out on Saturday by the gendarmerie, in particular using land and air resources, as well as with the support of firefighter dog teams.

Volunteers also took part in hunts in the Desvres forest.

All in vain.

Bernard Chaussoy, 81, cannot be found.
