In the summer of 1907, two English lords joined forces to imagine three super liners at the forefront of modernity and as luxurious as possible.

One of them is called the "Titanic".

On April 10, 1912, at 12:15 p.m., this transatlantic ship left Southampton in England, bound for New York.

2,200 passengers board.

Among them is the designer of the ship, Thomas Andrews, who wanted to take part in this inaugural crossing to make sure that everything goes well... In this episode of the podcast "At the heart of History" produced by Europe 1 Studio, Virginie Girod retraces the beginning of the Titanic adventure.

It is the most epic maritime drama of the 20th century.

But to understand how such a disaster could have happened, you have to go back to 1907, when two English lords decided to launch the construction of this liner, designed to be not only luxurious but also at the forefront of modernity.
