On September 26, the National Development and Reform Commission held a press conference to introduce the infrastructure construction.
Zheng Jian, director of the Basic Department of the National Development and Reform Commission, introduced at the meeting that in the past ten years, the national comprehensive three-dimensional transportation network has been accelerated to improve.
By the end of 2021, the total mileage of the national comprehensive transportation network will exceed 6 million kilometers, of which the operating mileage of railways will reach 150,000 kilometers, the mileage of expressways will reach 160,000 kilometers, and the total mileage of rural roads will be 4.466 million kilometers. The navigable mileage of inland waterways reached 128,000 kilometers, with 2,659 berths of 10,000-ton and above, and 413,000 postal express outlets.
A number of major projects have been completed, such as the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge, Beijing Daxing International Airport, Shanghai Yangshan Port Automation Terminal, Beijing-Zhangjiakou High-speed Railway, Chengdu Tianfu International Airport, Hubei Ezhou Huahu Airport, etc. A number of major projects such as the Tibet-Dalian Corridor, the New Western Land-Sea Corridor (Pinglu) Canal Project, and key sections of the high-speed railway along the Yangtze River have started construction.
