The food was part of the national Crisis Preparedness Week, an annual information campaign that aims to increase people's resilience in the face of social crises and ultimately war.

To mark crisis preparedness week, Lerum municipality chose a unique preparedness menu for schools and preschools.

- It was quite good.

I didn't even know there was such a lunch, says student Merita Hannouch.

To be prepared

With this week's menu, Lerum municipality wants to demonstrate the importance of being prepared for crises.

For the municipality, it is generally about dealing with things such as drinking water supply, infrastructure, school, care and social care in the event of extraordinary events.

But on Monday, the focus was on what to do if there is a shortage of food.

A message that was reinforced by the fact that the chairman of the municipal board, Alexander Abenius (M), was also sitting in the dining room and eating a crisis preparedness lunch.

- We think it is extremely important that we try to cook with the resources that we have stored during a crisis, but also that you should have an opportunity to taste it, says Alexander Abenius.

"Good to practice if something happens"

The concept of crisis preparedness was new to many students that SVT Väst spoke to, but the idea behind it was not perceived as foreign.

- Yes, it can be good to practice if something happens in the future, you think more about it because a lot of things are happening in the world right now, says Merita Hannouch.
