According to the website of the Qatar Emir Office, the leaders of the two countries also discussed the regional and international situation during the talks, and held consultations on strengthening cooperation between the two countries in the fields of economy, investment, energy, military, culture and sports.

Tamim said at a joint press conference after the talks that energy companies of the two countries are exploring investment opportunities in the energy sector, and Qatar has been working for years to expand the production scale of its northern gas fields to cope with the growing global demand for natural gas.

He said that the two sides expressed during the talks that differences should be resolved through dialogue and diplomatic means when dealing with regional and international issues.

Scholz said that the German side hopes to make progress in importing Qatari LNG and to deepen cooperation between the two countries in the fields of power production, aviation, new technology development, and heavy equipment production.

Qatar is the third leg of Scholz's trip to the Gulf, which follows his visits to Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates, where the search for energy supplies was one of the main purposes.
