The 49-year-old lawyer is currently still working in the same position at the central Hesse police headquarters in Giessen.

Most recently, he was involved, among other things, with the implementation of the guidelines for a new management and error culture within the police force.

The cabinet of the Hessian state government now has to agree.

The Wiesbadener started a career in the police immediately after studying law at the University of Trier.

He already knows the Frankfurt authorities, where he was a police chief on duty before moving to the State Criminal Police Office in Wiesbaden, where he was deputy head of department.

In 2012 Vögele became a consultant at the state police headquarters for the area of ​​operations, four years later he took over the management of the personnel department at the state police headquarters.

He later headed the “Legal Associations, Right of Assembly and Protection of the Constitution” department in the Ministry of the Interior.

In 2018, Christian Vögele became deputy head of the police academy in Hesse.

Two years ago he was again seconded to the Interior Ministry to head the office of the expert commission "Responsibility of the police in a pluralistic society".

When he took office a year ago at the police headquarters in Central Hesse, he was described as a "profit for the authority" and also as "a very valued and committed colleague".
