Dozens of people were killed and wounded Monday morning in a school shooting in central Russia, and a military official was wounded in another attack on a recruitment center.

According to TASS, 13 people were killed, including 5 children, and 20 wounded, in a shooting at a school in the central city of Izhevsk.

"The police found the body of the shooter, and our information indicates that he committed suicide," the Russian Interior Ministry said.

Earlier, TASS news agency reported that an unidentified assailant opened fire at the school and fled, and that the police were looking for him.

In another incident, the governor of the Irkutsk region - Igor Kobezhev - said in a statement, "In Ust Ilimsk, a young man shot at the military registration and enlistment office," adding that a military official was wounded and in critical condition, without mentioning his military rank.

Kobezhev stated that the shooter was arrested immediately, stressing that he will be punished.

On Wednesday, Moscow announced the mobilization of 300,000 reservists, stressing that the Russian authorities were preparing to mobilize "up to one million personnel", in the midst of the Russian military campaign in Ukraine.
