The appeal trial of the two teenagers accused of having harassed, hit and then thrown into the Seine the young Alisha, 14, opened on Monday.

It takes place before the Court of Appeal of Versailles (Yvelines), behind closed doors.

A little earlier in front of the gates of the Court of Appeal, a support committee of about fifteen people had met with two signs.

“Justice for Alisha”, “Argenteuil with Alisha”, was it written in black and pink letters.

“I expect a bigger punishment.

It was an ambush, she couldn't get out of it,” Alisha's mother told AFP.

This trial is “important for society.

Today it's my daughter, tomorrow it may be your child.

You really have to react, help young people to behave well, ”she said, referring to the harassment suffered by her eldest.

The cries of this mother had echoed in the corridors of the Pontoise court when, in April, the juvenile court sentenced the two young people, a 16-year-old boy and a girl, to ten years in prison for "murder of a minor aged 15 year ".

They initially appeared for "murder", a crime that involves premeditation, punishable by twenty years in prison with the excuse of minority.

But the file did not contain “sufficiently characterized elements” proving the premeditation, had considered the court.

The prosecution, whose requisitions were more severe than the decision, had appealed the next day.

The qualification of the facts at the heart of the debates

At Versailles, the qualification of the facts will again be at the heart of the debates, with a central question: could it be that this duo of teenagers, despite their young age, fomented a plan as disastrous as that of the ambush in which fell Alisha on March 8, 2021?

“When we take separately all the preparatory acts of this infernal couple, they all converge towards a single and unique objective: to kill Alisha.

While trying to anticipate the legal consequences, "said AFP a few days before the hearing Me Jean Tamalet, the lawyer for the girl's family.

“Was it really useful, really necessary to appeal?

I don't believe it, ”had for his part considered Me Frank Berton, the teenager's lawyer.

At the foot of the Argenteuil viaduct (Val-d'Oise), the young girl had found a friend from her third-grade class, had traced Éric Corbaux, prosecutor of Pontoise at the material time.

Then a boy approached her and hit her repeatedly, before throwing her into the Seine, he continued.

The motive that led to this macabre scenario also questions, between love affairs and rivalries between young people, teenage trivialities that have gradually turned into the harassment of the victim, whose stolen photos had been posted on Snapchat.

The hearing is scheduled to last until Thursday evening.

Then the decision will be taken under advisement, and rendered on October 10.
