A man, suspected of being at the origin of a vehicle fire which occurred in Brest (Finistère) on September 20, was arrested.

Three cars burned that evening in rue Sisley.

Thanks to several testimonies, the police quickly tracked down this 34-year-old man and arrested him the day after the incident;

He sets fire to his own car

The thirties would have recognized in police custody.

He would have explained to the investigators that he had acted out of spite in love, after a painful breakup.

In a drunken state, he would have parked his own car very close to that of his ex-companion before setting it on fire.

The flames would have quickly spread to the car of his ex then to a third vehicle parked in the street.

The man will be subject to an appearance on prior admission of guilt (CRPC) on January 9, 2023.
