The miserable condition of a Ukrainian soldier who was released four months after being captured by the Russian army shows the horrors of the battlefield.

On the 23rd local time, the Ukrainian Ministry of Defense released a photo of Mikhaylo Dianov, a prisoner of war who was captured and revived by the Russian army.

Dianov was one of the soldiers who guarded the Mariupol Azoustal Steel Works until the end in May, and at that time, he left a deep impression on the camera as his strong expression was captured even after his arm was injured during the battle.

But just four months after he was captured by the Russian army, he was so skinny that his ribs were bare, and his right arm was twisted and bent.

His eyes and nose swelled as if he had been subjected to harsh treatment.

Ukraine's defense ministry strongly criticized it, saying, "This is Russia's way of upholding the Geneva Conventions and continuing the shameful legacy of Nazism."

Meanwhile, after the photo was released like this, a campaign to raise hospital expenses for the treatment of Ukrainian prisoners of war is taking place on social media.
