Good pick for the gendarmes who seized 115 kg of cannabis resin this week by intercepting a go fast.

The operation was launched on Wednesday night with the assistance of GIGN.

It aimed to intercept "a convoy of two vehicles" returning from the south of Spain and going up the Atlantic coast by crossing Deux-Sèvres and Charente-Maritime, indicates this Sunday the National Gendarmerie in a press release.

Two "very unfavorably known" men were arrested and "nearly 115 kg of cannabis resin" were seized inside the carrier vehicle, according to the gendarmerie.

"A woman belonging to this same network" was also arrested at her home in Quimperlé (Finistère), the same source said.

Weapons and ammunition seized

"Elements materializing the behavior of the traffic (cocaine, cannabis resin and herbal cannabis), as well as valuables" were seized during this search.

"Two handguns and several hundred ammunition", cannabis resin were also discovered in a searched vehicle, adds the gendarmerie.

Placed in police custody, the three individuals were presented on Saturday to the Quimper prosecutor's office with a view to the opening of a judicial investigation for "drug trafficking, importation of narcotics, participation in a criminal association, possession of weapons and category B ammunition.” Presented to a judge, all three were remanded in custody.
