The Emir of the State of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, held talks in Doha with German Chancellor Olaf Scholz, who began an official visit to Doha on Sunday.
The Emir of Qatar said he and Schultz discussed the current situation in Afghanistan.
The Qatari Emiri Diwan stated that the German chancellor expressed to the Emir of Qatar his aspiration to enhance cooperation between the two countries in various fields.
For his part, the German chancellor said that there was talk about the delivery of liquefied natural gas shipments and Germany's desire to achieve further progress in this regard.
In another context, the German chancellor praised Qatar's preparations to host the World Cup.
He described its preparations in this regard as an amazing thing and an honorable success.
And Schultz started - yesterday, Saturday - a 3-day Gulf tour, which started from Saudi Arabia and the UAE, in which he discussed several files, including energy cooperation.
