  The joint statement pointed out that the two countries welcome the establishment of the "Korea-Canada Climate Change Dialogue" mechanism.

The two sides also welcomed the signing of the "Memorandum of Understanding on Cooperation in Military Materials" between the Korea Defense Agency and the Canadian Ministry of Defense, and the renewal of the "Memorandum of Understanding on Cooperation in Industrial Technology Innovation" between the Korea Industrial Technology Evaluation Administration and the National Research Council of Canada, and agreed to add more High-level dialogue mechanism on economic security.

  The two sides decided to further strengthen cooperation and coordination to jointly address economic security challenges, including deepening strategic cooperation around resilient supply chains, the statement said.

South Korea and Canada agreed that it is necessary to sign a memorandum of understanding within a few months, striving to build a value chain supporting clean energy transition and energy security such as key mineral supply chains in the two countries.

The two sides also agreed to strengthen the bilateral joint committee mechanism for scientific and technological innovation.

  In addition, Yin Xiyue invited Trudeau to visit South Korea, to which Trudeau responded positively.
