H.H. Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, met separately with the foreign ministers of Iran and Cyprus, on the sidelines of the 77th session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York.

During the meeting of His Highness Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, with Iranian Foreign Minister Hussein Amir Abdollahian, they discussed bilateral relations and ways to enhance cooperation paths between the two countries to achieve their common interests. The two sides also reviewed a number of files on the agenda of the United Nations General Assembly.

During the meeting, His Highness stressed the importance of strengthening international cooperation and working to consolidate the pillars of stability and peace in the region and achieve the aspirations and hopes of its peoples for development and prosperity.

The meeting was attended by Minister of State for International Cooperation Reem bint Ibrahim Al Hashemi, Minister of State for Khalifa Shaheen Al Marar, and Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation for Political Affairs, Permanent Representative of the State to the United Nations, Ambassador Lana Zaki Nusseibeh.

His Highness Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan also met with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Cyprus Ioannis Kasoulides, and the meeting discussed the strategic relations between the UAE and Cyprus and the prospects for joint cooperation between the two countries in all fields, in addition to a number of issues on the agenda of the General Assembly of the renewable nations, including change Climate, renewable energy, food security, etc.

The two sides discussed efforts to enhance stability in the region and meet the aspirations and hopes of its peoples for development and prosperity. They also reviewed developments on the regional and international arenas.

During the meeting, His Highness Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan stressed the depth of the strategic relations between the UAE and the Republic of Cyprus and the two friendly countries' keenness to enhance their bilateral cooperation to achieve their common interests and support their efforts to achieve sustainable growth at all levels.

The meeting was attended by Reem bint Ibrahim Al-Hashemi, Minister of State for International Cooperation, and the Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation for Political Affairs, the Permanent Representative of the State to the United Nations, Ambassador Lana Zaki Nusseibeh.
