In total, the Social Democrats in Hällefors received nine mandates, which means that Abdelmajid would not have received a seat in the municipal council if he had not been ticked off.
But thanks to the many personal crossings, the outcome was different.
He himself is surprised, but at the same time not surprised either.
- I already received more than 40 votes in the last election and I think it is due to my commitment to young people and those who have a hard time in society.
It seems they want to give me their vote to push the issues they think are important.
Many irons in the fire
On weekdays, Abdelmajid works as a chaplain in the correctional and medical care in Örebro.
In addition, he is a parent of small children and chairman of the Muslim association in Hällefors.
The question is how to manage that life now, when he also takes a seat in the municipal council.
- I will have to hand over responsibility in the Muslim association.
Otherwise it will be too much at once.
