• Politics Yolanda Díaz signs to add a reference intellectual from Zapatero and experts from outside the parties to raise her project

  • Appointment with the polls Podemos and IU open the debate to bury the United We Can brand for the May elections

Yolanda Díaz once again delays the date on which she will announce if she finally presents herself as a candidate for the general elections.

The new horizon is established at least for February 2023, although with a high possibility of extending until spring.

It is a change of plans with respect to the initial forecast.

Well, Díaz had the intention of communicating it when he finished his "listening process", which will last until December.

Now that tour of contacts with civil society is going to be held at the same time that a large group of collaborators is going to give muscle and political content to the project that Díaz wants to build and that is being configured through the Sumar platform, which is operating apart from Podemos and IU.

Diaz's announcement will only come when that group of experts has finished articulating a "country project for the next decade."

For that reason, until the date of February it is a time frame that is being considered internally but that is not even certain, because it could be in March or even later, Sumar sources point out.

Right now, Díaz places all the burden on the content and is not going to take any step before the foundations of that project are solid.

That is why he asks for patience, to flee from the rush and to be left aside.

Because although it may be a "slow" process, time is "necessary".

"Adding is not about stumbling or running," she warned yesterday.

"In this country project, imagination cannot be restricted to the size of a ballot box or an electoral list."

To build it, Díaz has signed 35 people who will coordinate the working groups that must land in a specific content the generic concept that the second vice president claims as Sumar's objective: "a new social contract."

The profile of that team is technical and alien to the organic life of parties like Podemos or IU.

They are experts or professionals, university professors and people linked to social movements.

, one of the reference intellectuals in Spanish social democracy and who had a great prestige in Zapatero.

His participation is not only a message of the space that Díaz aspires to occupy with Sumar, it is that he is also called to nurture the ideological framework of the project together with
