21-month

-old boy from the Canary Islands

who was currently hospitalized in Bali due to severe autoimmune hemolytic anemia of unknown origin and whose parents had asked for help to be able to transfer him to Spain, is already traveling to Qatar, from where he will subsequently fly to Barcelona together with to his family, as announced by the President of the Government of the Canary Islands, Ángel Víctor Torres, in an appearance to report on the passage of tropical storm Hermine through the Archipelago.

The little boy was admitted to the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) of the Sanglah Hospital (Denpasar, Bali) where he was diagnosed with a condition whose origin is unknown.

His family demands a second diagnosis and treatment in Spain that "is effective" due to the "

seriousness of the minor's condition

, which is unstable" after a week in hospital and after having received "already five blood transfusions."


The Deputy of the Common, Rafael Yanes, contacted the mother of little Mateo to be able to "urgently act as an intermediary" with the Ombudsman so that the minor could be

transferred and diagnosed in Spain,

since it is a matter of state jurisdiction.

The president of the Canary Islands, Ángel Víctor Torres, also made arrangements with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, with the Ministry of Health and with Tourism for the transfer of the child.
