“Romania is not going to fight, just like NATO is not going to fight with Russia, but de-escalation must exist on both sides,” RIA Novosti quoted Iohannis as saying.

He noted that Romania, of all NATO countries, has the longest border with Ukraine.

According to him, Bucharest is counting on peace talks between Kyiv and Moscow.

Earlier, Hungarian Foreign Minister Peter Szijjarto called for preventing a direct conflict between Russia and NATO.
