Referendums to annex Ukrainian regions to Russia continue

For the second day in a row, Russian-controlled areas in eastern and southern Ukraine continued, on Saturday, to vote on annexing them to Russia.

Referendums are being held in the Donetsk and Luhansk regions in the east, and Kherson and Zaporizhia in the south, and the Russian TASS news agency broadcast scenes showing officials in buildings in Donetsk telling residents on the radio that voting has begun.

In the Donetsk and Luhansk regions, whose independence Russia has recognized, residents will be asked to answer whether they support the accession of their republic to Russia.

And in Kherson and Zaporizhia the question will be asked: "Do you support secession from Ukraine, the creation of an independent state and its accession to the Russian Federation as a vassal of the Russian Federation?"
