Alia connects the people of “Furjan Dubai” with an electronic platform
Citizen Alia Al-Shamlan launched a community initiative aimed at building a sustainable relationship between neighbors in the Emirate of Dubai, by linking them with each other through a single electronic platform in the Instagram application. The initiative achieved a great response from various residents of Al Furjan in the emirate.
Al-Shamlan launched the platform "Furjan Dubai", and thousands of followers interacted with her, who participated in exchanging news of Al Furjan from different regions of the Emirate of Dubai, and conveying successful experiences in various fields in each Faraj, to be used in the other Furjans.
The initiative aims to shed light on the successful and creative personalities in each region, in various sports, cultural and creative fields, support Emirati national projects, and clarify ways to achieve these successes among community members.
Al-Shamlan told "Emirates Today": "The idea of (Furjan Dubai) came by chance, a year and a half ago, through a funny story, when I found a lost cat in the Al-Barsha area south, and I did not find a way to reach its owner, then my idea was to open an electronic platform. I called it (Al Barsha South), and I put a picture of the cat, and the audience interacted with me in searching for its owner.
She added: "This experience motivated me to launch a platform that publishes everything related to Al Freej news, and I invited the people to send their news to me." And spreading awareness among the people of the region in the fields of environment and health.
And she continued, "Currently, the platform includes nine Furjans, and it has turned into a non-profit community company serving the people of Furjan."
She explained: "(Furjan Dubai) includes a young team that always strives to create a bridge of communication between Furjan Dubai, and to provide volunteer services to the community."
Al-Shamlan continued: “The platform has achieved many achievements, by signing a memorandum of understanding with Dubai Police, the Community Development Authority, and the Union Coop. And the Ministry of Community Development, and through this cooperation with government agencies, we are trying to be a bridge of communication between the emirate and government agencies.”
