On Saturday in Paris, 250 people gathered to demonstrate and show their support for Iranian women, after the numerous protests in Iran following the death of Mahsa Amini.

The demonstrators denounce a country where women are "in prison".

At least 35 people killed in the latest violent protests in Iran after the death of 22-year-old Gina Mahsa Amini, detained by vice squad for wearing inappropriate clothing.

In Paris, a demonstration in support of Iranian women was held on Saturday afternoon in front of the Fontaine des Innocents, place du Châtelet.

On the spot, many flags and signs where it is written in particular "Woman, life, freedom".

On a large white sheet hung between two electric poles, the organizers drew a clenched fist, raised in the air, a symbol of the support it brings to Iranian women, explains Soma: "You should know that in Iran, the repression against women is super systematic. We can't be silent in this situation in Europe or in exile. We really try to be the spokesperson and also the voice of the people who are in the street."

“We have been in prison in Iran for 43 years”

In the crowd, Marie is also holding a sign.

She fled Iran to join France four years ago.

Today, it is obvious for her to support her compatriots.

“We have been in prison in Iran for 43 years,” she denounces.

"But I'm here. I'm quiet here, I'm free. The only thing I can do is come here. I wanted them to know that my heart is with them."

Nearly 250 people gathered at Châtelet.

This feminist is outraged by the situation in Iran.

If she is here, "it is to support Iranian women who demonstrate for their rights, so that women decide for them".

"Nobody has the right to control our body, tell us how you are going to dress or whatever. What is happening in Iran affects me, I feel concerned. That's why I am."

On Sunday, a new demonstration in support of Iranian women is scheduled for 4 p.m., Place du Trocadéro in Paris.

Since the beginning of the protest movement in Iran, 739 people, including 60 women, have been arrested in the country.
