On Friday, at the start of the afternoon, around thirty residents of an nursing home located east of Nice were evacuated due to a fire which broke out in the basement of the establishment.

According to the fire and rescue department of the Alpes-Maritimes (Sdis 06), 14 machines and 37 firefighters were mobilized to extinguish this fire which affected a parked car.

A room in the basement was damaged, and the smoke extraction operations lasted several hours, indicated Sdis 06. At the end of the afternoon, the residents were able to return to their accommodation.

No casualties would be reported.
