Sexual violence, torture and indiscriminate attacks have been committed in Ukraine.

Among the victims also children, who were "raped, tortured and illegally confined".

This is the sad balance of the commission of inquiry created by the United Nations to shed light on the violence in Ukraine which confirmed that, since the Russian invasion last February 24, "war crimes have been committed".

This was stated by the head of the independent commission of inquiry Erik Mose referring to the Human Rights Council.

"In the cases we investigated, the age of victims of sexual and gender-based violence ranges from 4 to 82. There have been incidents in which relatives have been forced to witness crimes" committed on their loved ones, he added. pointing out that in several cases it was established that the perpetrators were Russian soldiers.

The commission will continue to examine forced transfers and adoptions.

"We have had clear evidence of executions committed by Russian forces and which we will illustrate later," Mose explained.

He then added that Russia refused to cooperate: "We were struck by the large number of executions in the areas we visited."

Investigations were conducted in the Kiev, Chernihiv, Kharkiv and Sumy regions.
