It is noted that during the conversation, Lavrov informed his colleagues about the genesis of the Ukrainian crisis as a result of the coup in 2014, as well as about the course of the Russian special military operation.
“The Russian side highly appreciated the balanced position of the Arab League on this issue, which was confirmed during the regular meeting of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the Arab League member countries in Cairo on September 6,” the statement says.
In June, Secretary General of the Arab League (LAS) Ahmed Abul Gheit said that the Arab countries were subjected to strong pressure from the West, demanding that they take its side in the conflict in Ukraine, but did not succumb to this.
