Klyushin's defense petitions for the charges to be dropped due to errors in the testimony of an FBI agent

“Vladislav Klyushin’s defense insists on holding a hearing on errors and omissions in the affidavit of FBI Special Agent Kang, which was used to obtain search warrants to access Klyushin’s electronic data, and the exclusion of insider trading from the charge,” the agency’s source said.

It is noted that FBI special agent BJ Kang received a search warrant for Klyushin without good reason.

According to the representative of the defense, Kang relied solely on the possible similarity of the transactions of another defendant in the case.

The interlocutor of the agency also recalled that Kang had previously tried to distort facts and evidence in another high-profile US v. Rajaratnam case.

Earlier, the Russian Foreign Ministry said that Moscow would seek the return of the Russian to his homeland.

Klyushin was extradited from Switzerland to the United States on December 18.

He was arrested in Switzerland at the request of the US in June this year.

He is accused of financial fraud.
