It was on March 11 that a 25-year-old man with a gunshot wound came to the emergency room in Växjö in a private car.

The police were then able to establish that the man had been shot at Mörners väg in Växjö.

According to the indictment, one of the men accused of murder must have shot four times at the 25-year-old man at close range.

Two of the shots are said to have hit the man in his left thigh and caused continuous bleeding.

- My picture is that it is a person who contacts two other people about a conflict, which then degenerates into a shooting, where one person is shot in the leg, says chief prosecutor, Carl-Gunnar Fridolfsson.

After the man was hit by the shots, the two men in their 20s are said to have left the scene on bicycles.

The two men are also charged with serious weapons offenses and have been in custody since they were arrested abroad in Greece earlier this spring.

Admit and deny

One of the two men denies attempted murder and aggravated weapons offences, but admits aggravated assault and weapons offences.

The other man neither admits nor denies wrongdoing.

The man and woman in their 20s who are charged with protecting a criminal are said to have helped the two men accused of murder to flee abroad to Greece.

The woman was previously in custody for the crime but was released earlier this summer, both the man and the woman deny the crime.

- There are sufficient reasons for all the defendants for me to bring charges, but then it is the district court that decides, says chief prosecutor, Carl-Gunnar Fridolfsson.

The trial is scheduled to start on October 4.
