In response to the controversy over President Yoon Seok-yeol's 'slang remarks' while leaving the venue for the 7th Global Fund's Financial Commitment Meeting, the presidential office drew a line as 'private remarks'.

A high-ranking official at the presidential office said in a briefing at a press center in New York that the criticism of a 'diplomatic disaster' is not correct, and that it is very inappropriate to link private remarks to diplomatic achievements.

He explained, "I'm currently on a difficult schedule for the national interest of the Republic of Korea somehow, and it is quite regrettable to mention a diplomatic disaster in such a way."

He then raised doubts, saying, "I don't know who recorded what was said not as a public speech on stage, but as a passing speech, but the truth needs to be verified."

Regarding the question 'Are you thinking of expressing an apology for President Yoon's inappropriate remarks?', he said, "It is clear that this is not a public statement. He emphasized the negative position once again.
