When all the votes are counted in the municipal election, it is clear that the Moderates in Jönköping County made a good choice.
The party is increasing its voter support in all but two municipalities, Gnosjö and Vetlanda.
But in Gnosjö, the decrease was quite marginal, 0.3 percentage points, and the party received 22.8 percent of the vote.
It is only in Habo (25.7 percent) and Mullsjö (23.9 percent) that the party has greater voter support.
But in three of the county's municipalities, the party is making substantial progress.
It is in Mullsjö (+5.5 percentage points), Sävsjö (+4.8) and Värnamo (+4.5).
- I think they have found local issues that were important to the voters there.
Increased in the regional election
Even in the regional election, the Moderates increased by one percentage point to 16.5 percent.
In the last term, the party was not part of the broad coalition that governed Region Jönköping County.
During the current term of office, the Moderates have sat on the boards of eight of the county's 13 municipalities.
It was nine for a while, but the coalition with S and C in Vetlanda broke in 2020.
Can there be more municipalities in the county that you join and govern now with this good election result?
