A 53-year-old man was tried on Monday in immediate appearance before the criminal court of Angers (Maine-et-Loire).

A few days earlier, he had threatened gendarmes and physically assaulted one of them, reports Ouest France.

This Saturday, the soldiers were alerted to the presence of a drunken man in the shopping center of Segré-en-Anjou Bleu (Maine-et-Loire).

The 50-year-old was drinking alcohol in a supermarket and had just provoked the security guard.

When police arrived, the suspect was in the parking lot.

As a soldier tried to confiscate his beers, he grabbed her by the neck and then threatened his colleague with death.

“I will black candle and you will die within three days,” he said.

At the hearing, the 50-year-old admitted to having a problem with alcohol.

He was given an eight-month suspended prison sentence.

He will have to pay 300 and 400 euros in moral damages to the two assaulted gendarmes.
