Elisabeth Borne received some of the leaders of the parliamentary groups at Matignon to discuss, officially on the legislative calendar, but also on the pension reform.

If the Prime Minister still hesitates to pass the reform by amendment, this method does not pass with parliamentarians.

Elisabeth Borne continues to bring together the leaders of parliamentary groups: since Wednesday morning, the Prime Minister has received them at Matignon.

Officially, these meetings are around the legislative calendar, but in reality, it is mainly a question of the pension reform and a possible passage in force of the latter.

A method that is not at all validated by parliamentarians.

A "totally contradictory" method says Retailleau

The leader of the senators of the Republicans, Bruno Retailleau, was thus received by Élisabeth Borne.

The elected representative of Vendée came alone, without his counterpart Olivier Marleix, the president of the group in the National Assembly, following "an agenda problem".

If the senator is in favor of a pension reform, he does not want a passage by simple amendment to the social security budget: "A pension reform is not done, when you are the government, by an amendment falling to the last moment, dispensing with the opinion of the Council of State, an impact study and without any consultation", considers Bruno Retailleau.

Faced with the Prime Minister, the elected Republican "told him that this method was totally contradictory with the famous new method proclaimed by the President of the Republic and that it would tense the country".

"If it's the amendment, the government will impale itself," he said.

Throughout the day, several opposition groups repeated their hostility to this pension reform, both in form and in substance.

The Communists are already calling for mobilization and, in the process, environmentalists have called for a real debate in Parliament.

This is certainly what the socialists Olivier Faire and Patrick Kanner will demand, who spoke this Wednesday evening with Élisabeth Borne.

The representative of the National Rally, Marine Le Pen, will have an appointment at Matignon on Thursday morning at 11 a.m.

The elected representatives of France Insoumise will not be received until next week, apparently once again for a problem of agenda.
