By making a My Number card, you can get up to 20,000 yen in points.

Internal Affairs and Communications Minister Terada said he hopes to increase the number of card holders to about 80 million by the end of the year, which is on par with driver's licenses.

"Minor Point 2nd" is a system that gives points worth up to 20,000 yen by acquiring a My Number card, registering as a health insurance card, and registering a public money receipt account.

The application deadline for the card required to apply for points was the end of this month, but the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications has decided to extend the application deadline by three months to the end of the year to promote the spread.

On the other hand, application for points will not change until the end of February next year.

According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications, as of the 15th of this month, more than 60.63 million cards have been issued, with a delivery rate of 48%.

At a press conference after the cabinet meeting, Internal Affairs and Communications Minister Terada said, ``Currently, the driver's license is the most popular ID with a photo, and more than 81 million people have it. I hope we can achieve it," he said, stating that he would like to increase the number of card holders to about 80 million by the end of the year.
