A 7.6-magnitude earthquake that shook central western Mexico killed two people and injured more than 10, it is tentatively counted.

"Two people were killed in Manzanillo, Colima, close to the epicenter of the earthquake the previous day," Laura Velázquez, director of Mexico's Civil Protection Agency, told a regular press conference at the presidential palace.

Authorities said they died when they were struck by a shopping center structure or when the roof of a gymnasium collapsed.

Velázquez said at least 10 people, including minors, were injured.

In addition, more than 200 buildings were damaged, particularly in the states of Michoacan and Colima.

The shaking caused by the earthquake near Placita de Moleros, Michoacan state, around 1:05 pm (local time) on the 19th was detected in 15 states out of 32 states, including the capital Mexico City.
