It has been revealed that KEPCO and 11 of its subsidiaries, which are experiencing rapid business deterioration in recent years, have paid about KRW 2.5 trillion in performance pay over the past five years.

According to data from the People's Power Legislator Park Soo-young's office, the total amount of incentives paid to employees by KEPCO and its subsidiaries from 2017 to 2021 was KRW 2,486.8 billion.

In particular, KEPCO, which recorded a deficit of approximately KRW 5.8 trillion last year and KRW 14 trillion in the first half of this year, paid approximately KRW 860 billion as a performance bonus over the past five years.

Rep. Park pointed out, "It is necessary to raise the alarm about public corporations that spend their people's taxes like other people's money while doing negligent management."
