A two-year-old child died of his injuries after being hit by a car in Grau-du-Roi, Gard.

According to the first elements of the investigation, the victim was in a car with his mother and her companion.

An argument reportedly broke out between the two adults and the woman left the vehicle, leaving the door open.

The little boy would then have left the vehicle in turn, without the driver noticing.

The victim was hit by the door that remained open, while the driver was performing a maneuver.

The little boy died on the spot.

The judicial investigation was entrusted to the research brigade of the Vauvert gendarmerie.
