Erik Quist previously worked as a music teacher for several years at schools in Västerbotten and Norrbotten - but not at Arjeplog's only high school, which the politicians decided to close down.

Even though he changed careers and retrained as an electrician, he couldn't help but get involved politically when the closure of the Hornavan school became a fact.

Today, he is the second name on the party's electoral list.

- When we say that we want everyone in Arjeplog to have a say, we mean it.

It's not something we just say, other parties might do that, but we don't do that, says Erik Quist.

Requires a new investigation

What's the first thing you'll grab now?

- What we primarily want is for a proper investigation to be carried out into the possible consequences of the school closure.

But wasn't there already an investigation into it before the politicians made the decision to close the school?

- Yes, but it was questioned and the municipality brought in a consultant who looked into the matter.

She believed that the issue must be investigated more broadly and in depth.

Which is exactly what we in the People's Initiative want, says Erik Quist.

That's how it happened when the party was formed

In the video, the former teacher tells how quickly things went when the new party was formed.
