There were many rockfalls on the road of Liushishan Mountain in Fuli Township, Hualien, and the road to the outside world was blocked. About 400 tourists were trapped in the mountainous area, and the local area was trying to clear it.

  The Taiwan Meteorological Department stated that the frequency of felt earthquakes has a gentle trend, and aftershocks continue to occur in the vicinity of the epicenter. It is not ruled out that there will be aftershocks of magnitude 5 or higher in the next week, reminding us to pay attention to earthquake preparations.

The death case is that a worker surnamed Huang of a ready-mix cement factory in Yuli Township, Hualien was accidentally crushed while dismantling a dust collector during the earthquake.

  In terms of dispatching search and rescue manpower and equipment, Taiwan's "fire department" and various counties and cities dispatched a total of 120 vehicles, 278 people and 8 search and rescue dogs, and supported 5 helicopters.

  Taiwan's transportation department also stated that, affected by the earthquake, there was a total of 1 road disaster-damaged section. The 32.5K road surface of Taiwan 30th line was cracked and had a subsidence drop. Due to poor visibility at night, the disaster was prevented from expanding, and the east entrance of Yuchang Highway was closed. Two-way traffic resumed at noon.

  In the emergency assessment of post-disaster dangerous buildings, the “Construction and Construction Administration” pointed out that the three-story buildings on Zhongshan Road, Yuli Town, Hualien County were all collapsed after investigation, and should be demolished according to the “Construction Law”, and related operations have been carried out; A 2-story building collapsed, and subsequent demolition operations will be carried out; the cement plant at No. 34 Suankan, Yuli Town, Hualien County, has collapsed facilities and equipment, and the owner of the building will demolish it by himself.
