The conditions for continued bourgeois rule in Region Blekinge deteriorated last week when it became clear that the Liberals only reached 2.9 percent in the election - and thus lost the party's three regional mandates.

The fact that the previous term was also characterized by open cracks, cooperation problems and internal conflicts made the conditions for continued governance even more difficult.

Instead, a completely new regional board is now being formed, according to sources for SVT Nyheter Blekinge.

According to reports, the last details in each party were nailed down in the utmost secrecy this weekend.

No negotiations with M

Negotiations that have taken place since the election have now led to the Social Democrats receiving support from the Christian Democrats, the Center Party and the Left Party.

- I don't say anything, so I haven't said anything, says group leader Henrik Holmkvist (V), who does not deny SVT's information.

Will there be an announcement later today?

- It can conceivably do that.

Other representatives of the proposed new board have made themselves unreachable.

But it is clear that the outgoing regional councilor Lennarth Förberg (M) was not invited to sharp negotiations:

- I have had conversations, but for no concrete negotiations.

It will be interesting to see how, if at all, they will resolve this and how, in that case, KD will justify supporting S, he says.

The possible board will receive 31 mandates

This is how Social Democrats group leader Christina Mattisson commented on the initial situation last week:

- We have said that we do not close the door to any party, except the Sweden Democrats.

We are by far the largest party in the regional council, and hope to achieve a broad government.

According to the preliminary vote count, S, C and KD would together get 28 mandates.

With the Left Party, the parties get three more.

M and SD which together get 26.
