An armed robbery took place on August 15 in a convenience store in Fontenay-sous-Bois (Val-de-Marne).

The police investigation led to the arrest of a suspect on September 6… thanks to the help of local residents, reports Le Parisien.

The small supermarket and its cashier are indeed known and appreciated in the neighborhood.

Angry after the attack on the employee, the young people of Fontenay mobilized.

“They did their research and they understood that it was not someone from the neighborhood”, explains a source familiar with the matter.

He denies the robbery

Investigators were then able to obtain other CCTV images on which the robber did not have his face hooded.

The 14-year-old suspect was arrested at his home.

He has denied all charges despite his own mother identifying him in the footage.

Already known to the police, the teenager was referred this week to the Créteil juvenile prosecutor's office.

While awaiting his trial, at the end of November, the teenager was placed in a closed educational center.
