The location of the earthquake in Mexico recorded by the US Geological Survey (USGS)


At 1:05 pm local time on the 19th, a magnitude 7.6 earthquake occurred near Pracita Demorellos, Michoacán, western Mexico.



The shaking was also detected in the capital Mexico City and the Midwest, including Queretaro.



According to the U.S. Geological Survey, the epicenter is 18.20 degrees north latitude and 103.40 degrees west longitude, and the occurrence depth is 15 km.



The outbreak occurred off the Pacific coast, 475 kilometers west of Mexico City.



The Mexican government and local governments have issued warnings and reminded residents to move to a safe place.



Residents evacuated the building as the building shook.



However, the specific damage situation has not yet been revealed.



A tsunami warning has also been issued. The Pacific Tsunami Warning Center said, "A tsunami can occur in coastal areas located within 300 km of the epicenter."



The earthquake occurred on the same day as the major earthquakes recorded in 1985 and 2017.
