It is the electricity prices that cause it, because the snow cannons use a lot of electricity when they are used.

- Yes, it will be a problem for us with these high costs, says Sya Ski Club chairman Magnus Hansson.

The club is prepared to make a loss during the winter and not being open is not an option.

A price increase will be introduced to try to avoid the financial loss becoming too great.

Problem if prices are not reduced

The fixed electricity contract that the club has means that you feel confident that you will be able to cope with the coming winter season, but if the prices continue to be high, there could be problems.

- In the long term, it will hit skiing very hard, especially here in the southern latitudes where everyone is dependent on artificial snow, says Magnus Hansson.
