"All of us who are here are also there."

Alberto Núñez Feijóo has closed the interparliamentary conclave of the PP, held this weekend in

Toledo

, with an appeal to the citizens who have demonstrated this Sunday in

Barcelona

in defense of Castilian in Catalan classrooms.

"I want to remind all those who are demonstrating to demand the exercise of their rights and, especially, the right to know and speak the common language of the State", began his speech.

"Our party had to be there, without a doubt", although "we had to divide ourselves", he acknowledged.

The president of the

popular

ones has not been able to join the mobilization of the Ciudad Condal - to which Santiago Abascal and Inés Arrimadas have attended - because he had to intervene in this act, but he wanted to detail his linguistic position before anything else.

"Nobody has to explain to me what it means to love two languages. We said it at the Seville

congress

: our political project in regard to language is inalienable and it is that of linguistic cordiality in all the territories that have two languages : the common one and yours", he argued.

The line that Feijóo has drawn to settle the debate is that of the coexistence of the different languages of the State, in the path of what is happening in

Galicia

: "No one in

Catalonia

has the right to stir because there are people in Catalonia who decide to speak Spanish and no one in the rest of Spain has the right to be upset because there are Catalans who decide to speak Catalan. And no one, anywhere in Spain where two languages are spoken, has the right to prevent our children from learning both languages and speaking freely whatever they want," he explained.

"That is our first policy," he added.

Feijóo has considered that "using our languages to divide and single out citizens is not only an illegal and unjust practice, but it is also doomed to social and judicial failure, because we are in a state of law".

That is why the leader of the opposition has asked "the Basque independence movement and the Catalan independence movement" to "stop imposing their way of thinking and acting on the people."

"And I ask the PSOE to have a height and a sense of State that helps the PP return again to the State's linguistic policies," he insisted.

The PP, as long as it remains the main opposition party, "will go to court" to combat the attacks of secessionism against Castilian.

"And when we are in

government

, we are going to apply all the tools of the

Rule of Law

to achieve linguistic cordiality, to guarantee knowledge of the languages and guarantee freedom in the exercise of the languages of Spain.

"Co-responsible" income agreement

After the problem of Castilian in Catalonia, the second topic on which his address has pivoted has been the economy.

Feijóo has demanded a State pact between PP and PSOE to combine a "co-responsible" income pact and a reduction in VAT on "basic products", without specifying which ones.

This week the president of the PP has already demanded a cut in the tax on food, but now he is demanding that this proposal be extended to all possible products, including feminine hygiene products and everything that is considered "basic."

"We ask to analyze where it can be done, to debate where there is legal margin, where there is economic margin, to quantify the impact...", they explain in the PP.

In short, what Feijóo wants is to "open this debate" without a priori, so that the agreement with the PSOE is more easily achievable.

The income pact (increase in wages and pensions), together with the reduction of VAT and the deflation of the personal income tax rate, would serve, in Feijóo's opinion, "so that we Spaniards will return what we have paid more", via taxes .

The president of the PP has asked his co-religionists to "transcend ideas" and work now as if they were governing, to advance the work of "months" and be ready to "fix" the country.

"Spain is looking at us. Whenever there have been problems, they have voted for us. We are the party of solutions, of moderation and centrality. Spain expects a reformist project. We have always come out ahead alone", he emphasized.

Sánchez "will end up like Iglesias"

Before Feijóo's speech,

Elías Bendodo

, general coordinator of the formation, has enumerated some of the conclusions of the conclave.

His summary is as follows: "We have seen a PP government running this weekend" in Toledo.

"And that is what has Pedro Sánchez in the grip of a nervous breakdown", he added.

"Sánchez the only rise that worries him is the rise of the PP and Feijóo. Not that of the electricity bill and the shopping basket," he insisted, before predicting that the president of the government "will end up like Pablo Iglesias" because both are "a tracing".

Paco Núñez

has stressed that "all the socialist leaders are branches of Pedro Sánchez", including Emiliano García-Page, president of

Castilla-La Mancha

.

Núñez wanted to emphasize that the baron is not as distant from his leader as he appears.

"He says one thing and does the opposite", he added, but "Castilla-La Mancha is not going to pardon him", but "is going to send him to the opposition" in the May elections.

Núñez has asked for a pact for the water.

"We have to guarantee water for the entire territory, so that it is a backbone and an element of wealth and opportunities for all", he maintained, in a nod to

Alicante

,

Murcia

and

Almería

.

The Castilian-Manchego PP handles polls that predict an absolute majority for the sum of its deputies and those of Vox, but there are two other polls that predict that Page will keep the position.

Faced with this dilemma, the Genoa leadership wanted to hold this internal conclave in Toledo, as a boost for Paco Núñez.

"It is one of the values on the rise, clearly," point out sources from the Feijóo team, who are confident of "recovering" this community.

"We're going to go out and win," he said.
