Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said in a statement that "there is evidence that soldiers fired guns at the buried people for fun" in response to allegations that the Russian army massacred civilians in the northeastern region of Kharkiv Izium.

In a speech to the public on the 16th local time, President Zelensky insisted, "The crimes of all Russian fascists are being recorded, and evidence is being collected."

He said, "We found a torture chamber where residents as well as foreigners were imprisoned and abused. Last March, seven Sri Lankan citizens and Kupiansk medical students were captured by the Russian army and imprisoned underground. They were rescued after the liberation of Kharkiv and received appropriate treatment. there," he said.

Regarding the mass burial site found on the outskirts of Igeum, "It is too early to reveal the number of people buried as the investigation is still ongoing," he said.

President Zelensky said, "Russia repeated what it did in Izium in Izium. We are only beginning to know the truth about what happened in Kharkiv," he said. "The world must respond to this."

"It's a good thing we've decided to send a group to the UN to investigate the U.N. Eigeum area," he said.

As the Ukrainian police are excavating the burial site, it has been confirmed that ropes were wrapped around the necks of several bodies and their hands were tied behind their backs.

It is also believed that the majority of buried bodies are civilians.

In Ukrainian cities that were occupied and withdrawn by Russia, the number of civilian massacres is being confirmed one after another.

In March last year, hundreds of civilian bodies were found at the burial site, including a mass burial site where more than 50 bodies were buried.

In Mariupol, burial sites were also found in large numbers through satellite images.
