There are currently no missing people in the Candiano area, in the province of Pesaro Urbino, where a water bomb struck in the evening.

Based on the checks carried out so far by the local authorities and communicated to the Civil Protection and the Fire Brigade, there are therefore no missing persons at the moment as was initially feared.

The interventions of the rescuers are however still in progress.

A water bomb hit the upper Pesarese in the evening, on the border with Umbria, and in particular the municipality of Cantiano, where a river of water flooded the streets, dragging some cars away and flooding the ground floors of the housing.

The country, about two thousand inhabitants, is currently isolated at least as regards telecommunications: the inhabitants are barricaded in their homes, without electricity.

"Several rivers have overflowed. The water - writes Mayor Alessandro Piccini on Facebook - has invaded the central streets of the country. Several areas are already submerged. The municipal road network is interrupted in several sections. The state road towards Gubbio is closed. We invite citizenship to keep calm and avoid risky situations ", concludes the mayor.

The violent rain, accompanied by strong winds, also caused several landslides and the fall of plants, in particular along the Flaminia: the road that connects the provinces of Pesaro-Urbino and Perugia is closed to traffic.

In the pouring rain the firefighters and Enel technicians are working.

Bad weather was announced by a yellow alert issued by the regional civil protection.
