“The Achilles heel of this resolution is that it does not say a word about the systematic shelling of the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant, which is the main problem in terms of ensuring nuclear safety and nuclear security in the world.

The reason is simple - the shelling is carried out by Ukraine, which the countries of the West support and defend in every possible way, ”the diplomatic mission said in a statement.

At the same time, Russia and China voted against the document, while Burundi, Vietnam, Egypt, India, Pakistan, Senegal and South Africa abstained.

“Thus, most of humanity refused to support this project,” the Permanent Mission noted.

As previously reported by Reuters, the IAEA board of governors adopted a resolution demanding that Russia "immediately cease actions against and at the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant."

Russian President Vladimir Putin noted that he trusts the IAEA report on the trip of the delegation to the Zaporizhzhya NPP, although it is obvious that the agency's leadership is under pressure from the United States and European countries, so he cannot say directly that the shelling of the station area comes from the Ukrainian side.
