This was told to RIA Novosti by the press secretary of the Russian Embassy in Bratislava Vitaly Zhitnyuk.

“During the working trip of the Russian Ambassador to Slovakia Igor Bratchikov to the eastern regions of the country on September 13, the fact of desecration of the graves of Russian heroes resting in Ladomirov was discovered.

As it turned out, two months ago, at the direction of the headman of the village, the graves were razed to the ground with the help of a bulldozer,” he said.

The embassy condemns this blasphemous step, which in most civilized countries is a criminally punishable act, Zhitnyuk stressed.

The Russian side calls on Slovakia to adhere to the provisions of the 1995 intergovernmental agreement on the burial places of fallen servicemen and civilian victims of the war.

“The corresponding note has been sent to the Slovak Foreign Ministry,” the spokesman said.

On August 23, in the Latvian capital in Victory Park, work began on the dismantling of the monument to the liberators of Riga.

During the demolition of the monument, the sculpture "Motherland" broke apart.

On August 25, the last element of the monument to the liberators, a 79-meter stele, was demolished there.

Russian President Vladimir Putin called the demolition of monuments to Soviet soldiers a betrayal of his own fathers.
